Personal

This is just too cute not to share! I found this little kitten crawling on Farmington, a four lane road, when I came back from a photo shoot Saturday evening. I thought it was injured and stopped to pick him up. It turns out, he was just a really exhausted, four week old kitten. At first, he was super shy, but within two days he turned into this super playful, amicable little friend. My boys absolutely adore him and my older son named him “Frilu”. I really hope we get to keep Frilu. I have pretty bad cat allergies and have to see how I feel in a few days. But then it will be too late to re-home him, because the boys are already head over heels for this little fellow. Who wouldn’t!

Field trip

This past week, we got back from a month of field work in Costa Rica. It was an amazing trip with lots of wild life and nature. We found some great spots with plants and did experiments for my husband’s work (he is a Biology Professor). All in all it was a very successful trip. But it can also be exhausting to travel with a 2 year old and a 4 year old, and it feels good to be back home. This weekend, we will be celebrating many kids’ birthdays (including our Vincent’s second birthday) and I will be busy with photo shoots. Life is getting back to normal again. And of course, we have many, many photos that will help us remember the great experiences in years to come! Here is the view of Cano Island from the Corcovado National Park, one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen.

Baby Daniel – Newborn Session

I got to snuggle with this little nugget today! I was really lucky and able to capture a few of his cute smiles… His older brother was the icing on the cake. I am pretty sure those two will be trouble in the future, don’t you think ;-) !? I love how baby Daniel is all wrapped up and cozy. Absolute cuteness!

Merry Christmas

I would like to wish everybody Merry Christmas! This is truly such a special time for kids and I can’t wait to see the joy in their eyes when Santa has been there and they see their presents! In our family, we celebrate as we know from our own childhood by German tradition. I will leave the house with the boys, maybe go for a stroller walk through the neighborhood or to the playground. Coincidentally, this will be the time that Santa has arrived at our house and the kids will find presents under the tree (there are no presents under our tree yet). We’ll also have some new train tracks set up in the kid’s bedrooms (Thomas the train is a big hit recently). It will be challenging to prepare a fancy dinner when the kids will need all our attention to share their excitement, so we’ll keep this part simple. German tradition is Kartoffelsalat and Bockwurst, but we’ll have our own modification from this. How do you celebrate your holidays?

Summer travels

We are currently traveling to visit family in Germany and it will be quiet around here. Here is an image that I totally love: My little one checking out my mom’s horse.
